Raiding My Sister's Closet: Christmas Presents!

One thing I love about Christmas is a few new things in my closet. Bart bought me this great sweater (one of his best-ever clothing purchases for me, I'd say), and it's been getting a lot of wear since the temperature is not warm here.

(I know. The weather here is nothing compared to other parts of the country, but I'm a Las-Vegas-raised wimp. And then Texas further solidified my already-impressive wimpiness).

The other most exciting thing I got in December actually showed up a few days before Christmas from Lily Jade. I'd been looking to ditch my diaper bag for a few months, now that Ani's a little older and also because I do sometimes leave the house without my little children on occasion and feel dumb lugging around something that screams "Does anyone need a baby wipe? Because it's super obvious I will have some with me. And some crushed Cheerios!" so when Lily Jade offered to send me one of their designer diaper bags, it took me half a nanosecond to say yes.

It does come in black and brown, but I figured for once in my life I'd be brave and go with a fun color, and I haven't had a moment of regret. It makes me happy every time I see it.

Also, I'm going to Alt Summit later this month (have I mentioned this? I can't remember), and I'll be glad to have a bag that can handle all the stuff I will be hauling on the plane for me and my two children for a five hour flight (yippee (barf)), and still be nice enough to take to Alt (where I hear a bag that can hold a lot of stuff is a necessity).

And this bag can hold it all. I packed it for our 9-hour (each way) road trip to Alabama last week and it seriously wasn't even stuffed at all. I guess I should have put more candy bars in (but only for eating on the weekends, of course).

Sweater: American Eagle // Tank: Old Navy // Jeans: Gap // Shoes: DSW // Bag: c/o Lily Jade

P.S. Through January, you can get 25% off any of their bags with the code "everyday25." They are more pricey than a lot of diaper bags, but after looking at a LOT of diaper bags, I've come to the conclusion that basically every diaper bag is expensive. And this one is a lot LOT nicer than any of the other ones I've seen.

Check out Merrick and Landen's favorite wearable Christmas gifts (and tell me about your favorite Christmas gifts - I always love hearing what other people got!):

  1. Love the sweater! Way to go, Bart! I also love the red and purple combo!

  2. You look lovely in purple! And AWESOME bag.

  3. Kudos to hubby for picking such a lovely garment. I am convinced that red goes with everything so yay for being brave and picking that color:).

  4. Fun sweater and great bag. I love a diaper bag that looks like a bag but can also be a backpack. The backpack feature is so handy for touring.

  5. What a cozy looking sweater and love the color of your bag!

  6. The discount code you listed isn't working....

  7. Hmm, it's working on my end. Is it still having trouble? I'm so sorry!

  8. you and your sisters are cuteness overload! i just found our blogs and i'm devouring them!
