Raiding My Sister's Closet: One Chambray Skirt

One summer, when I was probably 10 or 11, my mom went on a major sewing kick and made us a TON of skorts.

I particularly remember a matching set she made for all of us (plus our cousins) that were navy blue with a large red and white star pattern.

We were basically the height of fashion.

Doing this post, where we all wore the same skirt, reminded me of that summer, although this time we went a little more sophisticated with this fun chambray skirt that looks good on everyone.

Although maybe we can convince my mom to make us three matching pairs of skorts for next month's edition of Raiding My Sister's Closet . . . I mean, if overalls made a comeback, why not skorts?

Drop by Merrick and Landen's blogs and check out what they wore with this skirt and purse:

  1. I wear skorts every day in the summer. Have to, since I have muscular thighs (that's not a euphemism . . .) that have a chafing problem if I wear a skirt for too long in our nasty humid summer weather. But shorts looks terrible on me, so skorts are the perfect solution. Stupidest name ever for the most practical thing. Good thing I pay zero attention to trends, I guess.

  2. Except I think the skorts now that looks just like skirts with the shorts part hidden are nothing like those weird skorts that look like a skirt in the front and shorts in the back or whatever. I suspect that's what you're referring to. Those were strange.

  3. Please tell us more about your hair routine! Your hair always looks so loveky, but I just can't imagine that you spend hours doing it. This mama needs tips for fast and cute hair,

  4. The link for the skirt doesn't look like the one you are wearing in the pictures?...I like the one in the pics better, is it sold out? Thanks!

    1. Merrick bought the one we're wearing at LOFT last year, so it's not available anymore. Sorry!
