When we unpacked everything last week, I stumbled on this little Valentine's headband I made Ani last year.
And then I found the pictures I'd taken of it and remembered how ridiculously cute one-year-old Ani was (can you ever get tired of a redheaded baby?).
This headband is still going strong a year later (and eight months packed in a cardboard box). Plus you can make one in about ten minutes.
- Felt in the color of your choice (I used red)
- Metallic leather (or faux leather)
- Thin elastic
- Sewing machine
- Thread the same color as your elastic
Cut out three felt hearts and one metallic heart. Set aside.
Using your baby's head as a guide, mark how long you need your elastic to be to fit snugly around their head, leaving an extra 3/4 inch on each end.
Pin the ends together with a 3/4 inch overlap. Sew securely together with your sewing machine.
Pin your hearts in an overlapping pattern onto the elastic, with the metallic heart on top.
Sew in a straight line down through the hearts onto the elastic.
Remove the pins and let your tiny child be the most festive person in the house.
