We've visited California, and then Merrick and I went up to Salt Lake City for Alt Summit. We also made a bunch of trips to the park near my parents' house, and I got two fillings because no one knows how to vacation like I do. (The upside of having a dentist for a father is that you get free dental work. The downside is that you have to do it while you're on vacation).
I love to travel, and it's always so fun to come to Las Vegas and see my family, but I always really love coming home.
I like the routine of every day life. I like working on little projects, making dinner, visiting the library, and grocery shopping.
I like going to pick up the mail every afternoon, and taking walks around the neighborhood, and putting my girls to bed in their own rooms (Ani has been sleeping in the bathroom at my parents' house because I am not brave enough to let my girls share a room)
I like sleeping in my own bed, and being the boss (this comes as an enormous shock to all of my younger siblings who have never ever ever seen this side of my personality).
I like all my stuff. And I hate living out of a suitcase.
Also, like I mentioned before, Bart was gone for a week in early January in San Francisco, so I really have hardly seen him this entire month.
It will be good to be home, even if my mom isn't around to iron all my clothing and entertain my children while I read books on the couch.
(By the way, it's my brother, Crawford's 18th birthday today. He came up to Salt Lake on Saturday and met us for lunch with my grandparents and my cousin and her fiancé. I cannot believe how OLD he is now (seriously - he towers over me now!) and there is no one I find quite as funny as Crawford. He makes me laugh like almost no one else can. He's coming out to visit us in the next month or two and I cannot wait).
