A few things I've loved lately:
- Merrick mentioned these glittery flats in her Sisters Share It All post this week and I'm convinced I need a pair now, especially since my own beloved gold shoes now have holes in the soles (when I sit on the floor at storytime, I look like a homeless person).
- I love cinnamon rolls but don't make them often because Bart doesn't particularly love them. I'm dying to try this chai-spiced version from Joy the Baker. I mean, people, they have candied ginger, cardamom, black pepper, and maple syrup in the filling (I am certain Bart will hate them. More for me).
- A Beautiful Mess is a new blog to me and I'm in love. So many gorgeous posts on all the things I enjoy - food, homes, projects, and clothing. I tried this peanut butter/chocolate smoothie recipe yesterday, and Ella and I both scarfed it down.
- I've been waiting for Gayle Forman's new book since Where She Went came out almost two years ago. And now the wait is over - Just One Day is out!
- I know this looks like a gray blob. It's actually a stoneware platter from Crate & Barrel.
- This tutorial for a glittery striped shirt caught my fancy. . . must figure out something to do that is similar (I'm kind of in stripe-overload right now, but maybe a glittery polka dot shirt?)
- Merrick got this one line a day journal and Becca had just mentioned a similar kind of journal on her blog, so I was definitely intrigued. I think this might be just my style of journal writing. And it doesn't hurt that it's such a pretty book, too.

The line a day journals are a neat idea, I like the notion of not having to sit and write a lot but to still get the feel of journaling.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those journals! I think I've done about 3 days in it. I've had it for something like 2 years. The great thing about it is that it's ok if you don't do it every day, so what if it takes you 8 years to "fill" it up? (haha. yeah, like I'll do that.)
ReplyDeleteI recorded a line a day last year and am now coming around the horn this year. It's fun to see what we were doing a year ago. Last year, I was horribly sick and burned 2 sick days! Fun times.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do you wash that glittery shirt? Glitter in the washer is my nightmare.
I love my line a day journal - am currently in year three. It is my answer to not doing a baby book for my now 3 1/2 year old. It is quick and easy to do right before bed. Highly recommended!
ReplyDeleteFunny, A few weeks ago I bought a one line a day journal for both my husband and me. I am awful at keeping a journal so I'm hoping this will help! Those cinnamon rolls look really good.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that everyone is mentioning this journal. I bought it in the middle of last year but waited until January 1st to start. Granted we're only 11 days in, but I've never been so consistent about writing in a journal!
ReplyDeleteI know I'll read Just One Day, but really, another series book? Can't anyone write a stand-alone book anymore?
I mourn when I have to throw out a pair of flats due to holes. I should just buy three pairs of every pair of flats I fall in love with.
I got those exact same glittery flats for Christmas and I LOVE them! Jilly also loves when I wear my "sparkey shoes."
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Gayle Forman was doing another one! Just put a hold on it at the library. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI kind of have to ditto Melanie though...can a book be just a book anymore? The series are taking over the book world.
i've been wanting to look into that journal!
ReplyDeleteVery fun! I love those shoes. That blog looks amazing too! I'll have to add that one to my list.
ReplyDeleteI say try polka dots or what about a star or heart for Valentines? I have those shoes, so cute, but beware, they get glitter on everything for a while.
ReplyDeleteI love "A Beautiful Mess", you could be on the site for days. I bought one of those "Question of the Dya" journals and I only wrote in it for a month or two. I felt like a lot of the questions were VERY similar.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend.
I'm trying out something similar to One Line A Day. I just write five words to describe my day in my planner. No extra book required, since I keep my planner with me most of the day. I decided to blog about it every Friday too.
ReplyDeleteI really like the glitter products! Who says glitter is only for the holidays?!
I may have to try out that journal! I'm terrible at writing in a journal. I just fell out of the habit after high school, and now it feels weird to start back up again so many years later.
ReplyDeleteHow funny. Your blog is the first I read everyday and A Beautiful Mess is the second. When I looked at your page today I thought I clicked on the bookmark for ABM because your picture reminded me of their look. I just love your writing, recipes, and stories about your everyday happenings.
ReplyDeleteI have those shoes and I really like the way they look, but the glitter goes everywhere! I took them to Colorado for a wedding and my suitcase was very sparkly when I got there.
ReplyDeleteah stripes...I realized while I was on our holiday vacation that 95% of the clothing I had taken was striped. How did my entire wardrobe end up being stripes?!
ReplyDeleteI've got a 5-year line-a-day journal that has a Jane Austen quote at the top of each page. Most of the time I just write about my day, but if nothing particularly exciting happened then I respond to the quote. It's fun!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these things. Wish we lived closer so we could do some fun glitter DIY project together!
ReplyDeleteHow did you make your little graphic thingy? I'm working on a My fave Thngs post and I'd love to make something similar.
ReplyDeleteYour sister and I seem to have a lot in common - I love the glittery flats and one line journal! Just wrote a whole post about how a lot of my journaling issues were solved by that one line format!
