The thing about being pregnant is that, for most people, the more pregnant you are, the less clothing options you have (except last time when I borrowed three complete pregnancy wardrobes from a couple of friends and had twice the amount of clothing that I normally did. That is, sadly, not happening this time).
Which means everything you can still fit into has to pull its weight in a big way (oh the jokes I could make with that last sentence. I will refrain).
Since Merrick, Preethi, and I are all pregnant at the moment, we thought it’d be fun to do a little “One Piece Many Ways” deal-y. And hey, if you aren’t pregnant, well, does that mean that YOU can’t wear a t-shirt? No, it does not.
I really like this t-shirt because the stripes are subtle and, more importantly, it cost $4. You know how I like a bargain. (Full disclosure? I had a 10% off coupon, too, so it didn’t cost the FULL $4).
Also, a long stretchy t-shirt goes for many many months when you’re pregnant. And should it refuse to snap back after you’re no longer pregnant, well, goodbye four whole dollars.
Here’s five ways I’ve worn this t-shirt (all with my exactly identical hair):
One Step Above Casual/My Daily Life:
I love the combination of gold and gray. And I’m determined to wear these gold sandals until the day they fall off my feet. Also, I know some people passionately hate the hi-lo hemline look. I am not one of them. I’m sorry if this puts our friendship in jeopardy.

Going to the Movies (at the dollar theater, if you’re me, which you probably are not):
You most definitely do not need the sweater when you’re outside, but movie theaters, restaurants, and pretty much any indoor space is about 50 degrees during the summer here. I do not leave home without a second layer.

Church/Working as a Secretary Administrative Assistant:
This is the world’s most stretchy pencil skirt, I think. It fits me when I’m not pregnant, but I wore it as late as five or six months during my last pregnancy.
[Sweater: Old Navy, Skirt: Ross, Shoes: Payless]
Sitting Around the House in Sweats. Er, not sweats:
You know what I love about belts? It instantly looks like you did more than throw two items of clothing on. Also, I love belts right now because I know the moment this baby is born, there will be no more belts, what with the nursing scenario.
[Skirt: Target, Sandals: American Eagle, Belt: Target, Necklace: Gift from Ralphie]
Out to Dinner:
Neutral, neutral, neutral, red shoes. Pretty much my favorite thing ever. Also, I did not appreciate how stretchy these pants were until I was pregnant. So stretchy.

Check out Merrick and Preethi’s outfit combinations too:

This is such a cute idea! I don't what it is, but I always love "one piece, many ways" posts. I don't think I've ever seen it for maternity clothes, but I most definitely love it.

Adorable! And what a cute idea! I seriously need to try to be more creative with my favorite clothing items. I usually just wear the same outfit all the time. Loved seeing Merrick's and Preethi's takes on this challenge, too.

Love it all… Especially the blue maxi skirt (by the way, I've recently placed maxis in my "loungewear" category. Just so easy!)

Alas! We are still called secretaries in some more traditional corners of the world (our Alma Mater for example). On a happier note, you're really good at putting stuff together, I'm still trying to learn that skill.

Cute idea, and a very versatile shirt! I always carry around a cardigan or extra layer, too – the A/C in most going-out places is intense!

You're so cute. And I meant to comment on the music post from yesterday (heck, I pinned it!) but forgot. I wanted to say that I always appreciate new song ideas for Addie, who is SO musical. In Gymboree she learned the first verse of "Woolley Bully" weird, I know, but the kid LOVES it. I can't count the number of times we've sung it.

I love your pencil skirt. And your secretary/admin assistent thing. I worked as a secretary/admin assistent/management assistent for six months and I go back and forth on what to call it.
Also, coming from the Netherlands, the whole it's hot outside but inside it's cold thing confuses me. We don't have airconditioning in many buildings (mostly because it's not hot enough) so now that I'm in Provo I'm constantly carrying around a second layer because I'm not sure I'm going to need it or not. I usually don't, but the couple times I didn't bring it with me to class or church or whatever I needed it. Too hard.

Great photos, Janssen! I love the concept of being able to wear one piece of clothing multiple ways and did something really similar in my Wear One Piece Five Ways post with a chambray shirt recently. Now that I know you and Merrick are related I can totally see it!
BTW, loving the sandals in the first pic. Where did you get them?

Um, pretty sure if I lived in Texas, and I was a smaller person, I would be stealing your outfits. I know you think your clothes or boring (now thinking back upon posts I've read hoping you've said this so I don't sound like a huge jerk!) but you look super cute. I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with neutrals and I really love the pop of red. And do you ever buy 2 or 3 of the same shirt because you just love it that much? I do that all the time-did it just the other day. Same shirt, two different colors.
