Might apples and peanut butter be the perfect afternoon snack? Discuss.

  1. Apple and peanut butter has its merits but I prefer chocolate chips and pretzels.

Which is why you're skinnier than me.

  2. Well actually I quite like a peanut butter and apple sandwich for lunch, but you have to have good apples (not too difficult at this time of year).

  3. I love apples and peanut butter and also bananas and peanut butter. Either snack makes me silently hum Raffi's "apples and bananas song." It just happens-I can't control it! I hope you enjoyed your snack.

  4. Pretty hard to beat, especially in the "healthy" category. Now if you want to talk unhealthy, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and a glass of milk would be a good alternative.

  5. Yes! Josh mixes a bit of Karo syrup with his peanut butter which makes a nice caramel-ly dip (also a good choice). As far as other options, I propose chips and guacamole (assuming someone else has already made it for me) or a bowl of ice cream.

  6. Perfect. Unless you add a dollop of Nutella, then you have achieved Perfection 2.0

  7. The perfect afternoon snack (if you've already made it and can just reheat it) is sweet meat squash soup! It's made of boiled and then blended sweet meat squash, carrots, celery, and onion, with some half and half mixed in. :D

  8. You are a healthy snacker.
I'm with Kayla. I just had pretzels, dry life cereal, dried mangoes, and coke. I'd have eaten a real mango, or a real apple maybe, but I didn't have any.

I think I will get out some chocolate now.

  10. As a non-eater of peanut butter, I'd suggest apples with caramel dip. Or else chocolate-covered pretzels. :)

  11. hmmm - I like the pretzels and apples or just a fruit in general. No peanut butter for me though.

  12. Apples are also real good with sharp cheddar cheese (weird but true) or plain yogurt and honey (also weird but equally true.) Basically... I like my apples with protein.

  17. Perfect. My go-to tends to be a triple berry muffin courtesy of Betty Crocker (I think).

  19. I really prefer apples and caramels, but peanut butter is what I have available.

Really, my favorite snack is a tray of sliced hard salami, various types of crackers, cheese (sharp cheddar and Jarlsburg or other Swiss), served with a dish of peanut butter mixed with horseradish.

Which, as someone else said, is why you are skinnier than I am.
