Things I've Been Doing Instead of Blogging

  • Dealing with my fourth (or possibly fifth) cold of the school year. Delightful.
  • Watching Little Dorrit (Ralphie would be proud) (what would winter be without these kinds of movies?)
  • Losing my mind with joy at the Scholastic warehouse sale. 30 books for $160, mostly hardbound (these were, of course, all for the school library, not for my home library).
  • Putting up the Christmas tree (bless Bart for suggesting we do it).
  • Christmas cards (our first year doing them! Kind of exciting, actually).
  • Making a valient effort to plow through my library books and return them.
  • Ordering Christmas presents (this is the first year I am really, truly ready for Christmas well in advance).
  • Listening to Christmas music (we've fallen in love with Celtic Woman):

  1. Oh...don't you LOVE Celtic Women! One of these days I'm actually going to get one of their CDs! Got your Christmas card - love it! (We're still trying to get ours out.) I'm glad to hear someone is ready for Christmas, I'm sure not!

  5. I LOVE Little Dorrit! I've actually just watched the first part, it was online on PBS's site. But I think I'm going to order this and watch the rest of it. You are right, what would the winter be without these types of movies?

  6. I haven't had any colds so far this school year! I'm amazed at how much healthier I am since I'm not teaching with little kids everyday and am staying at home with my little one instead... I'm sorry. Colds stink!

  9. Oh man! I can't believe that we are just now discovering that you love Celtic Women too! I thought we knew everything about each other! My all time favorite is "The Wexford Carol". Watch it on youtube. I cried the first time I heard it. Chichi loves for me to sing it to her.

  10. I just watched Little Dorrit for the first time two or three weeks ago. I was halfway into the second episode when Mike came in, and he was so intrigued that we started over and watched the whole thing together over two days.

  11. Got your card and loved it! Abe & I are thinking of doing New Year's cards because it's not going to happen in time for Christmas...

  12. Well I have YOOOU to thank for spending the last 30 minutes watching YouTube videos instead of packing.

For sure, I COULD have played them in the background and kept at it.

    I didn't.

    Still your fault somehow.

;) Thanks for sharing, hadn't listened to Celtic Woman until today!

  13. Hope you feel better. The good news is that the longer you teach, the more immune you become to the kids' germs. :)

  15. I'm a huge fan of Masterpiece - and I loved Little Dorrit - especially Matthew MacFayden - I think he (a less stocky version) really did make a great Mr. Darcy as well - some people swear that Colin Firth was the best but I love them both. Feel better! Warm up with some Celestial Seasonings Eucalyptus tea - it's the best for colds!
