What I'm Going to Read: Round 3

First of all, the winning book for Tell Me What to Read: Round 3 is The Art of Racing in the Rain, suggested by J. I've never heard of it, but it looks good, and I have it on request at the library already. Stay tuned for a review of it later this month.

The other suggestions (and wow, you guys always have such great suggestions - I wish I could read them all immediately!):
Of these, I've read:
AND. . .not to be overshadowed by that terrific list of books, the winner of A Season of Gifts is Tina who blogs over at Books Are My Thing and is also an elementary school librarian. I wish I had a copy to send to everyone - I adore Richard Peck.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

  1. I can't believe you haven't read Fablehaven yet Janssen! And These Is My Words is one of my most favorite books. I'm glad you're liking Boston! Lauree

  2. I'm glad I got in on the ground floor with my first pick because it seems unlikely that the odds will be in my favor again! Nevertheless, I figure tossing in a recommendation for the good of the order can't hurt.

  3. So, what I really want to know is, are there any books that are suggested that you think, "No. No. No. No. No."?

  5. I'm so glad you are reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. That would have been my suggestion. It's one of the top 10 most moving books I've read. I hope you review it.

  6. I've heard great things about "Art of Racing in the Rain," and we have a long hold list. I'll be curious to see how you like it since its focus is on a pet (you're not crazy about them if I remember).

  7. Oh, yay! I hope you enjoy it. It is about a dog, and I am NOT a pet person at all but I loved this book!

  9. I'm interested in what you thought of The Time Traveler's Wife. I was excited to read it and enjoyed the story - but found it drowned out by constant foul language and lude interjections. I'm hoping the movie pull sout the best parts!
