I considered writing today about the horrible horrible day I had at work (seriously – worst day ever, I think), but no, I know better than to write about work.
Then, I thought “I could take a picture of my hair today and compare it with my hair two months ago” but really? That would just depress me because my hair looked lovely two months ago and now it looks horrible. It’s too long and it looks greasy on the days I don’t wash it and dry and static-y on the days I do. There is no winning with my hair when it starts getting long – I was born to have short hair. I shall be getting my hair cut this weekend. And all shall rejoice (or at least me).
Then I considered writing about the things in my life I’m most grateful for – my practically-perfect husband, our cute house, my grad school acceptance, my lovely family, Bart’s equally lovely family, our good friends here, etc. But, eh. . .
It became obvious – it was a day to post pictures of my three favorite pairs of shoes and my three favorite purses. Nothing can brighten a day like lovely lovely possessions:
I didn’t buy this purse. And I wished hard that I had for two more days and went back and bought it. A few months later, I went back to the store and saw a purse I loved. Then I realized it was the same purse in a different color. And I knew I’d done the right thing to buy it.
My mom bought this purse for me for my birthday. I love it more than I can say. It’s got a lot of pockets in the inside, but it’s so clean and streamlined on the outside. Plus, it can hold a paperback book. One cannot ask much from a purse.
I first saw this purse when I picked out purse #2. But I didn’t buy it. When Bart and I went shopping for my birthday, the store here had it too. This time, with Bart’s encouragement, I took it home with me (it’s the one that was discounted over a $100). It doesn’t look huge, but it can easily hold two hardback books. The red suede smells SO good; I feel happy just looking at it.
After I saw Ralphie wear these shoes, I ran to Wal-Mart to buy a pair so I could be just like her. I adore these shoes. Totally comfortable and very versatile. Best $9 I ever spent on a pair of shoes. Aren’t you sad that you don’t have Wal-Mart shoes too??
Ah, I feel happy. And do I like these things even more because I got them all on sale (except pair #1 of shoes)? Maybe.

I’m sorry you had a crummy day 🙁

I hope you find solace in the fact that you were not alone in having a bad day. And doesn’t it drive you nuts not being able to blog about work sometimes? I have stuff to say, but most of them read my blog and it would only end badly.
I LOVE your purses! I’ve been needing a new one for a while, but let’s be honest here. I’m less than 3 months away from carting a diaper bag everywhere I go, so shelling out for a new purse just seems kind of silly.
Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s to a long weekend with lots of good food.

Ah, I hear you on flats. But at the same time, sometimes they’re good for me so that I don’t actually break 6 feet. I suspect some of my friends don’t enjoy talking to my boobs, so flats have their uses 🙂
Love the purses. I so want a new purse…
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Wow, I only have one purse, and it’s not a purse it’s a gigantic diaper bag. But hey, I learned a cool trick from Stef today. . .on the days you don’t wash your hair you can do a “dry wash” you put a bit of baby powder in your hand and rub it through your hair. Takes away the grease and leaves you smellin good. Seriously, it works. Try it. Thank me later.
P.S. One of your best talents is making sweet potatoes. It’s true.

Awesome shoes and purses. I am jealous…that you can wear heels. I, alas, am tall enough I don’t often wear heels because I tire of talking to the tops of people’s heads. Also, props for pulling off the multiple purses. I’ve often wanted multiple purses, but couldn’t figure out how to make sure all my stuff got transferred from purse to purse.

I’m so sad you’re getting your hair cut, when in only 4 weeks you could come to my house and get one free of charge! Remember London? Favorite haircut? Favorite sister? I think not.
Also, I love your purses. They’re beautiful. And I thought of you the other day when……I BOUGHT A NEW PURSE!!!! Where from you ask? DI. What brand you ask? Kate Spade. Some poor woman accidentally threw her favorite purse in the DI pile and now I’ve purchased it for a whopping $2. I love my life. I’ll be sending pictures shortly.
p.s. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I love purse #1! (They’re all cute, but that one’s my favorite.) I just started getting into purses last year. I bought a cute Kate Spade knock off from one of those street vendors in DC. But now I’m back in school and use a backpack everyday, so I rarely carry a purse.
I know how you feel about shoes that you love and wear all of the time, but worry about getting worn out. I have a pair of black heels and a pair of brown shoes that I just adore. I wish I had bought three pairs of each just so that I’ll have them for years to come!

I’m so happy that you didn’t laugh at my wal-mart shoes and honored that you bought some too so that we could wear them on the same day. Twinners!

I love purse #2 🙂 I have shoes #1 and I adore shoes #2. I am a flats wearer, mostly for the comfort factor, but the slightly raised flats are so much more attractive in my opinion!
