I hope this isn't it poor taste, but I just discovered this website that shows the last meal requests for those in Texas slated to be executed on Death Row (you really can find ANYTHING on the Internet).

Final Meal Requests

I especially was amused by the guy who asked for "cool whip and cherries."

Thanks to Julie.

  1. I like the "one bag of assorted Jolly Ranchers" Some of those meals are HUGE!!! It kind of makes you think about what you would request if it were your last meal...

  2. I liked the Jolly Ranchers one too. Another guy just wanted a jar of dill pickles. Yet another wanted a heaping portion of lettuce. One guy requested a delicious apple, not just any old apple, a delicious one. He also wanted 2/23/90 written in icing on a cake . . .I doubt that's his birthday. And then there's the guy that wanted a pot of tea and 6 chocolate chip cookies--a very distinguished felon, I presume!

Why am I writing all of this, you guys have probably read the website for yourselves?

Kind of macabre, but fascinating, thanks!

  3. I thought they took that down? they must have put it back up. I think yoru standard last meal should be just that, a standard meal. Like a Turkey and dressing TV dinner. They eat better than my family.

  4. Hmmmm, makes me wonder what I would eat if I knew it would be my last meal.

(but I kind of think this stuff shouldn't be published online even though I was sickly fascinated with reading it)

  5. I can't believe how many drinks they each wanted. They must have large appetites! I wouldn't be able to enjoy all my final meal requests if I was filled up with so much diet coke!

  6. Ha, I've totally read that before and wondered if it was bad that I was so entertained...

  7. I liked the jar of dill pickles and the bag of assorted Jolly Ranchers. It would take forever to eat a whole bag of Jolly Ranchers.

  8. I think I'd ask for a big bag of cheese puffs.

But if I was a serial killer, I'd get cereal. Let the meal fit the crime. That's what I always say.

  9. I think there's something wrong with anyone who could eat at all in that situation. I related more with the guys who didn't request anything.

  10. I'm with Miriam. I think if I knew I was taking the needle (or whatever) in a few hours, I'd be throwing up.

  11. there is a lot of fried stuff listed. and then one guy wants liver and onions - yeeuch!

Good thing us bloggers played this little game ourselves just a few weeks ago.
