Blogger is telling me that this is post 200 but it's a lie, since it's counting the half a dozen or so drafts sitting in the queue that will never see the light of day.
I wrote two book reviews earlier (because I read two whole books yesterday - when you sit home all day long and feel too sick to cook or even take a shower, there is much time for reading), but I feel like I should post something non-bookish.
So, um, I quit my job today. It was horrible. I knew it'd be horrible because there is nothing I detest more than quitting a job, but it was even worse than I'd feared because my boss seemed so shocked and also crushed. (Also, when you come into your boss's office and close the door and say "can I talk to you for a minute?" it will make it harder when your boss doesn't turn away from his computer because he probably thinks you're going to say something like "can I change my direct deposit set up" and you have to talk to his back until he starts to slowly turn around as he realizes that you are giving your notice).
Anyway, he offered to let me stay on part-time, whenever fits my school schedule. And I said "probably not" but now I'm thinking "maybe so."
Tomorrow I'll talk to him about it and see if I can keep my health insurance (since it's free free free - no monthly deductible or anything) and if it's okay that I'll be gone for Christmas for approximately ten years and also if I can work only 10-15 hours a week. And maybe, I'll stay. I do very much enjoy my job and those I work with. Plus, the office is very close to my house.
Also, our whole office went out to lunch today because we have two new employees and nothing will make you feel like a scumbag faster than eating a delicious meal on your office's bill and then going straight back to quit at that office. You will sort of want to throw up that free lunch on to your shoes.
