I don't really love going to Wal-Mart; usually it's too crowded and there are only two checkout lines open even though approximately six hundred people need to be rung up, all of whom have seventy two items they picked up because they were cheap and the one little box of Kleenex they actually came to Wal-Mart to buy. Also, the shelves are just kind of dumping grounds, and it's hard to find stuff.
But, for some reason, I love love love going to Wal-Mart early in the morning. There was a Wal-Mart right across the street from my high school, and many mornings I would stop there to pick up something I needed for school (poster board, markers, donuts, etc). Since I had early morning seminary, it was VERY early when I went, and usually I'd be the only person there. I'd get the very best front parking spot. I would walk through deserted aisles, and I would be the only person in the check out line. It was lovely. Also, there was just the exhilaration of being able to drive and to be independent.
Today, Bart went to work early and, after dropping him off, I stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up some contact solution and 3x5 cards (for my insane GRE vocabulary studying). And, they had some magazine files that I'd been looking for, so I bought those too. Because they were cheap. It was fun to be there again, when I got the best parking spot, when I didn't wait one single second to pay for my things, and when I only saw one other person in the whole store. It was a good feeling. And it's more thrilling to buy home organization products than posterboard.
